Support Software MEXE02 Setup Instructions

The MEXE02 software supports users with everything from start-up to maintenance.
In addition to setting and editing the operation data and various parameters with a computer, teaching and various types of monitoring can be performed.
If this is your first time using the software, please check here before downloading.
How to Set Up
Supported MEXE02 versions vary depending on the product.
Please check the version support status of each Series on the List of Supported Products page, and refer to that information.
Introduction
Before downloading and installing MEXE02 Ver.3, please check the following items.
- PC Administrator privileges are required to install the software.
- Before installing, be sure to uninstall any currently installed MEXE02 Ver.3. Click here for information about uninstallation. *There is no need to uninstall MEXE02 Ver.4.
(To check the version of the software you are using, go to Help - "Version Information" in the software.) - If the root certificate is not up to date, the installation may fail.
- MEXE02 Ver.3 and MEXE02 Ver.4 can be used together.
Download and Installation Procedure
If there are no problems with the content of above "Introduction," proceed to download and install MEXE02 Ver.3 following the procedure below.
- Download the installation program (ZIP file). Download page is here.
- Unzip the downloaded compressed file and open the MEXE02JA folder (or the MEXE02ENUS folder for the English version).
Extract the files to a folder as close to top-level hierarchy as possible.
Example) C:\\ (expansion folder) - Start Setup.exe (Setup program).
- Follow the on-screen instructions as the installation starts.
When installing MEXE02 Ver.3, in addition to MEXE02 Ver.3. the USB device driver and Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile will also be installed.
Things to Check Before Starting Communication
After the installation is complete, start MEXE02. Before starting communication with the product, please check the following items.
Please have the MEXE02 operating manual at hand when checking. Click here to download the operating manual in PDF format.
You can also refer to the operating manual in the software. Open the [Help] menu, and click [Open MEXE02 operating manual].
- The Main Power Supply and Control Power Supply of the Product to be Communicated with are Turned ON
Turn ON the main power supply of the product with which communication is to occur. If the product requires a control power supply, turn ON the control power supply as well. - Connected the Communication Cable to the Computer and Driver
- Connected with a Communication Cable (Type) that Corresponds to the Product to be Communicated with
There are 2 types of communication cables.
The type used depends on the applicable product. For details, refer to "Communication Cable Type." - Set Communication Ports
When setting the communication port, connect the computer to the target product, and turn on the power supply of the target product.
If connection is not successful, the remote port not be displayed. For details, refer to section "4-2 Communication Port Settings" in the operating manual. - The USB Device Driver for the Communication Cable Has been Properly Installed on the Computer
When installing MEXE02, the USB device driver will also be installed.
If the driver is not installed, please uninstall MEXE02 and reinstall later. - Installed with the Appropriate Setup File for the Windows OS You are Using
The setup file for installation is different for each Windows operating system.
Please check the system requirements page and download the file that corresponds to the OS you are using. - The Latest Version of MEXE02 Has been Installed
Please note that older versions may not be able to communicate with the product.
Download the latest version of the file, which can be found on the download page. - Installed with Administrator Privileges
- Confirmed that the Product being Connected is Compatible with MEXE02
Series Name and Product name of the currently connected product can be checked in [Connected Product Information] under [Tools].
If the product is not supported, an error message will be displayed. For details, refer to section "4-3 Checking Connected Products" in the operating manual.
If still unable to communicate with the product after checking these items, please contact the customer support center. (by phone, fax or e-mail)

Basic Usage and Utilization Tips
Once communication is established, product information can be read, and operation data and parameters can be edited and exported, as well as various types of monitoring, and teaching remote operations. For details on how to operate each function, please refer to the operating manual.

The Software is Designed to be Easy to Understand and Use*
In MEXE02, the shortcut keys (Ctrl+C: copy, Ctrl+V: paste, etc.) and floating functions are available to independently display the parameter setting screen and the operation data setting screen (in separate windows).
The waveform monitoring can also be output in CSV format.
- *This function was added from Ver.3.30. If you are using an older version, please install the latest version before using.
Uninstalling
When installing (upgrading to) the latest version of MEXE02 Ver.3, it is necessary to uninstall any previous versions. *There is no need to uninstall MEXE02 Ver.4.
Follow the instructions below to uninstall MEXE02 Ver.3.
Note, if using MEXE02 Ver.4, "ORIENTAL MOTOR CO., LTD. Common Virtual COM Port Driver" does not need to be uninstalled.
If using EZED2 or EZED3, "ORIENTAL MOTOR CO., LTD. CC05IF-USB Driver" does not need to be uninstalled.
Uninstall the Device Driver
- Disconnect the communication cable.
- Following the program uninstallation procedure for your OS, uninstall "ORIENTAL MOTOR CO., LTD. Common Virtual COM Port Driver" and "ORIENTAL MOTOR CO., LTD. CC05IF-USB Driver."
Uninstall MEXE02 Ver.3
Uninstall "Support Software MEXE02 Ver.3.** Japanese Version"* following the program uninstallation procedure for your OS.
- *For the English version: Support Software MEXE02 Ver.3.** English Edition

Things to Check Before Starting Communication
