Winding Down

The motion of unloading the wound load from the top to the bottom is called winding down operation.
Since the motor is being turned by gravity, it acts as a generator in the case of servo motors, which may damage the driver, so a circuit for regeneration is necessary. Stepper motors and αSTEP can be speed-controlled even when winding down because they are turning in synchronization with pulses.
