Gear Ratio
The rate at which the gearhead decelerates the motor's rotation speed. Motor rotation speed at gearhead output shaft will be\(\frac{1}{ \text{Gear Ratio}}\).
The gearhead gear ratios correspond to the difference in motor rotation speed between 50 Hz and 60 Hz. To ensure the same rotation speed of the gearhead output shaft, Oriental Motor offers 2 series of the gear ratio; 3, 5, 7.5, 12.5, 15 etc. and 3.6, 6, 9, 15, 18. The latter is 1.2 times the gear ratio. A gear ratio of 3 in a 50 Hz region and a gear ratio of 3.6 in a 60 Hz region allow nearly identical gearhead output shaft speeds. Of course, all gearheads can be used in both the 50 Hz and 60 Hz regions.
