Device Driver
For Windows
Can be used as a Windows COM port by installing the device driver.
To download device drivers, click here
*After extracting the compressed file, right click on silabser.inf and select install.
For Linux
Use the drivers that come standard equipped with Linux distribution.
Follow the steps below to grant read and write permissions to the serial port to which the VCS08 is connected.
- Connect the VCS08 to the computer.
The VCS08 will automatically be recognized and a device file as "ttyUSB0" will be generated under "/dev." - The "0" in the device file name will vary depending on the environment, enter the following command into terminal to check.
Enter the command, the device file name will display as "/dev/ttyUSB0".
If multiple device file names are displayed, unplug and plug the VCS08 to confirm. - Enter the following command into the terminal, grant read and write permission to the serial port.
Example: For device file name is "ttyUSB0"
