Initiatives for Environmentally Friendly Design
Oriental Motor promotes environmentally friendly design (eco-design) toward a decar-bonized society and is working to reduce the environmental impact of products from the development and design stages to the entire life cycle.
In addition, through product assessments, we assess the environmental impact of our products from the perspectives of resource saving (compact andlightweight), long life, energy saving, safety, and security and promote the development of environmentally friendly products.
Efforts to Reduce Burden on the Environment
Oriental Motor conducts environmental assessments of its products during the planning conception, development and design, and prototyping and start-up phases of their life cycles to evaluate resource conservation, resource recycling, ease of disposal, energy conservation, and management of chemical substances contained in products.
Initiatives in Green Procurement
Oriental Motor is promoting global environmental protection activities and is engaged in green procurement, which prioritizes the procurement of products, parts, materials, packaging and other items that have minimal environmental impacts. In this regard, we have established basic requirements as “Green Procurement Standards”, and are promoting green procurement activities together with our business partners. We ask that our business partners understand the importance of global environmental conservation activities and cooperate in these activities. Oriental Motor uses chemSHERPA, operated by the Joint Article Management Promotion-consortium (JAMP), to investigate chemical substances contained in products.
