Permissible Torque
This is the maximum torque that can be driven by the motor and gearhead combination.
The torque of the gearhead output shaft can be calculated using the following formula.
Permissible torque TG = TM × i × η
- TG
- Gearhead Permissible Torque
- TM
- Motor Torque
- i
- Gearhead Gear Ratio
- η
- Transmission Efficiency of Gearhead
As the speed reduction ratio increases, the output torque increases proportionally. In reality, however, the load torque that a gearhead can transmit is limited by the shape of the gearhead, gear material, strength, and other factors.
The limited permissible torque is called "maximum permissible torque."
