Q.The combination of AZ Series EtherCAT compatible driver and OMRON Corporation PLC is controlled using MC commands. How do I perform push-motion return-to-home operation?

A.

Applicable Products

AZ Series EtherCAT Compatible Driver:
AZD-AED, AZD-CED, AZD-KED, AZD2A-KED, AZD2B-KED, AZD3A-KED, AZD4A-KED, AZD-KRED

Control Methods: Use the motion control (MC command) of PLC (Operation mode CSP, CSV mode)

If you would like to use the internal profile of the driver (Operation mode PP, PV, HM mode), check the FAQ here.

The AZ Series does not support push-motion return-to-home by MC command. Please consider an alternative homing method.

  • *In homing mode (HM), push-motion return-to-home can be performed. For more information, check the FAQ here.

[Supplement]
When push-motion return-to-home is performed with MC commands, the return-to-home operation settings are "Proximity Evacuation and Pushing Time Specifications" and "No-Home Proximity Input and Push-Motion Home Input Specifications."
In order to use these return-to-home functions, an automatic torque limiting function is required, but since the AZ Series does not support this function, it is not possible to use MC commands to perform push-motion return-to-home.
