MRC Studio Splash Screen

MRC Studio is a software that supports everything from startup to maintenance.

In addition to creating operation programs and setting and editing various parameters with a computer, you can perform teaching and monitor various statuses.

Operating Environment

Information on the operating environment for using MRC Studio.

Operating System

For the following operating systems, the 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) versions are supported.

  • Microsoft Windows 10 Ver. 1607 or later
  • Microsoft Windows 11
CPU IntelR Core i3 and Processor 2 GHz or higher (OS must be supported)
Graphic DirectX 10 or later, VRAM min. 128 MB
Display Resolution HD (1280 x 720) or higher
Memory*1 2 GB or more
Hard Disk*2 At least 1GB of free disk space

The operating condition for the OS must be met.

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 is required for MRC Studio. If it is not installed, it will be installed automatically, and in some cases, additional free space may be required.

Important

  • The required memory and hard disk space may vary depending on the system environment you are using.

Communication Cable

Please prepare a USB cable (commercially available) with the following specifications.

MRC Studio Simulator is available that allows simulation of actual motion without the MRC Studio (product version), the robot itself or the robot controller MRC01.

  • If you are using it for the first time, please install it according to the setup guide.
  • The files provided by this service are compressed in ZIP format.
  • Be sure to check that the file size to be downloaded matches the downloaded file size.
  • If there is a file size discrepancy, discard the file without unzipping (executing) it. After that, download again.

Differences Between MRC Studio (Product version) and MRC Studio Simulator

Both are available for free download. The differences in functionality are as follows.

Monitoring
The following can be monitored.
  • TCP coordinates of the robot
  • Angle of each axis
  • Handed system
  • Number of the tool offset in use
  • Information on the coordinate system in use
  • Pallet monitor (Pallet size and other information, current cell number, etc.)
  • Robot information monitor (Mechanism information such as robot link length)

Information on signal systems that require connection to external devices cannot be monitored.
  • *The MRC Studio Simulator does not take into account the load condition of each axis, which may cause differences in actual operation.
    When operating the actual device for the first time, we recommend that you try a lower operating speed rate.

Note

Do not combine MRC01 configured with the latest version of MRC Studio with earlier versions of MRC Studio after configuration.
Data read/write cannot be executed properly and the data in MRC01 may be altered.

Device Driver

The device driver will be installed automatically when you install MRC Studio.
Use it only if the device driver could not be installed with MRC Studio.

The device driver download file contains both 32 bit and 64 bit versions. Use it as appropriate for your environment.

MRC Studio Simulator

Download the Latest Version

The MRC Studio Simulator is available for simulation of actual motion without communication with the robot controller MRC01.
You can perform teaching, origin setting, and creation/execution of the operation program while viewing the 3D graphics of the robot.
Operation programs created with MRC Studio Simulator can be used without change when installing actual robots.
The download file contains sample data files that are programmed for each robot type, so you can try them out immediately after installation. In addition, the language switching function allows you to switch between languages in-application.

  • *It may have different functions and operations from the product version. Also, it cannot communicate with the robot controller MRC01. When connecting with MRC01, use the product version software.
  • *The version may differ from the product version. Please be aware.

How to Set Up

Introduction

Before downloading and installing MRC Studio, please check the following items.

  • PC Administrator privileges are required to install the software.
  • Before installing, be sure to uninstall the currently installed MRC Studio. (To check the version of the software you are using, go to Help - "About MRC Studio" in the software.)
  • If the root certificate is not up to date, the installation may fail.

Download and Installation Procedure

If there are no problems with the contents of the "Introduction" above, proceed to download and install MRC Studio following the steps below.

  1. Download the installation program (ZIP file).
  2. Unzip the downloaded compressed file, and start Setup.exe (setup program).
    Extract the files to a folder as close to top-level hierarchy as possible.
    Example) C:\(extracted folder)
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions as the installation starts.

When MRC Studio is installed, USB device drivers and Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 will be installed in addition to MRC Studio.

Uninstalling

When installing (upgrading to) the latest version of MRC Studio, it is necessary to uninstall any previous versions.
Follow the instructions below to uninstall MRC Studio.

Notice When uninstalling MRC Studio, please uninstall both MRC Studio and the device driver.
Note that if you are using MEXE02, "ORIENTAL MOTOR CO., LTD. Common Virtual COM Port Driver" does not need to be uninstalled.

Uninstalling the Device Driver

  1. Disconnect the communication cable.
  2. Uninstall "ORIENTAL MOTOR CO., LTD. Common Virtual COM Port Driver" following the program uninstallation procedure for your OS.
